Middle Eastern Flair

Hendersonville and Flat Rock residents looking for a meal with a Middle Eastern flair have a new place to dine. Pita Express, owned by Mohamid and Lina Abuadas, opened Friday in the location of the former Doughboy's Donuts on Greenville Highway. The couple operated the cafeteria at Blue Ridge Community College for 10 years. When the lease ended at BRCC, they began to look around for a place to open an eatery featuring Middle Eastern fare, said Mohamid Abuadas. The couple, who have lived in Hendersonville for 20 years, also run Lina's Subs, a sandwich shop at Smiley's Flea Market in Fletcher.
"We had been looking for a place to open for a long time," he said Wednesday. "We thought people would like full-scale dining in a Middle Eastern restaurant. People love the food."
